Qui e Ora Residenza Teatrale - ABOUT US

Qui e Ora is a theatrical production company that puts on performances, organises exhibitions and festivals, and curates workshops and other projects both in Italy and abroad. It focuses on self-written performances and places great importance on working together with other artists to contribute to its own productions, in a perpetual merging of languages and visions.

It all began in 2007 with the Être project (Être standing for Esperienze Teatrali di Residenza, Theatrical Residency Experiences) promoted by Fondazione Cariplo.

Qui e Ora is theatre that deals with contemporary society, which seeks to create shared narratives and highlight contradictions from an ironic perspective. Qui e Ora is about meeting people. It’s about turning the everyday into an artistic act and vision. Rediscovering a deep-down sense of community and art inherent to every local community.

For years, Qui e Ora has been nurturing a project that puts the province and citizens of Bergamo at the centre of artistic experimentation and the creation of cultural products. One of the main benefits offered by the residency are the accommodation facilities for artists and members of theatrical companies, under art. 43 of the Italian Code of Entertainment (Codice dello Spettacolo), with grants from Regione Lombardia, Fondazione Cariplo and the Italian Ministry of Culture (MIC).

Qui e Ora curates Up To You, an original project that includes a training programme and the creation of a festival with participatory artistic direction involving under-30s.

Qui e Ora is a “company for the production of innovative theatre” and benefits from the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture (MIC), Fondazione Cariplo, Regione Lombardia, and the Municipalities of Bergamo, Arcene, Brusaporto, Carvico, Casazza, Comun Nuovo, Entratico, Scanzorosciate, Treviolo, and Verdello.

Qui e Ora Residenza Teatrale is part of a network with Progetto C.Re.S.Co, Associazione Etre, IETM, RISONANZE NETWORK
