Saga Salsa Noir

Saga Salsa Noir is a play about dining in a single act, centred around a wake, with a style reminiscent of the comedies by Achille Campanile. At this gathering, with an atmosphere that is comically noir and brimming with suspense, no food is served or eaten. The only thing served is a mystery, that the audience will have to solve. Was the death of the main characters a natural death? Or has an atrocious crime been committed? If so, who did it? The tales about food are mixed with Shakespearean echoes, in a surreal game of Cluedo, with an unexpected ending, packed with Italian-style comedy. It is a chance to go back to the times when mealtimes were opportunities for people to gather and feed on each other’s stories. An opportunity to smile and take an ironic look at death, to respond with a surreal and visionary artistic gesture to the inevitability of daily life.
This show is for anyone who loved the tales in Saga Salsa and for anyone who do not yet know the story of this family, in which the tradition of making tomato sauce is entwined with tales about food in a metaphor about life.
